New details in Val Kilmer’s cause of death has been revealed nine days after his passing aged 65.

The iconic film star, known for hits including Top Gun and Batman, died from pneumonia on April 1, a death certificate obtained by TMZ confirmed.

Underlying causes listed on the death certificate are acute hypoxemic respiratory failure, chronic respiratory failure, and squamous cell carcinoma of the base of the tongue.
