Grandma’s final photo of granddaughter minutes before she’s killed

A heartbroken grandmother shared a final photo of her 3-year-old granddaughter, Scarlett Jensen, taken just minutes before her tragic death in a hit-and-run on October 7.

While being cared for by their grandmother in Oldtown, Idaho, Scarlett and her 2-year-old brother Henry were walking in their private driveway when a Chevy Tahoe struck them. Despite the grandmother’s attempts to shield the children, Scarlett was killed instantly, while Henry and their grandmother were critically injured.

🔹 The Aftermath:
The driver fled but was caught and sentenced to 10 years in prison. Henry suffered severe injuries, including a fractured spine and broken ribs, and spent a week in the PICU with a full-body brace for 10 weeks. The grandmother also sustained broken bones but was later discharged.

🔹 A Heartbreaking Discovery:
Weeks later, Scarlett’s mother, Samantha Jensen, found a photo on her mother’s recovered phone, taken just five minutes before the crash. Scarlett was picking flowers after an ice cream outing—an image Samantha now treasures.

🔹 Healing Through Grief:
The family continues therapy and leans on their faith for healing. Samantha cherishes the photo, seeing it as a peaceful reminder of Scarlett’s final moments:
“I will forever picture her happy and carefree, picking flowers with her best friend and Meemaw.”
