Daniel Wood, 35, was killed in a horrific crash just minutes from home when his Holden Commodore slammed into a pole on Uley Road, Adelaide Hills, at 1:30 a.m. Monday. The impact split the car in two, and despite paramedics’ efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Known as “Woody”, he was a beloved member of the Gumeracha Football Club, remembered as loyal, kind, and always ready to help others. Tributes flooded social media, with friends and family expressing heartbreak over his sudden passing.
Police confirmed the car failed to navigate a bend, making Wood the 16th road fatality in South Australia this year.
