Stacy and Babajide, a couple from Lagos, Nigeria, were thrilled to give their daughter a sibling. However, during Stacy’s pregnancy, they received an unexpected surprise—she was carrying twins. But nothing could prepare them for what happened during the delivery.
On February 26, 2019, twins Daniel and David were born via cesarean section. Daniel had dark skin and curly black hair, resembling his older sister, while David had golden curls and white skin. Stacy and Babajide, both Black, were stunned by the striking difference. Doctors and nurses were equally amazed, gathering to see the twins.
The family later learned David has oculocutaneous albinism, a rare genetic condition that causes a lack of pigmentation in the skin, eyes, and hair. While Stacy was initially worried about how others would react to David and the potential health challenges associated with albinism, she was relieved that he hadn’t faced serious issues.
Despite their differences, the twins share a special bond. Daniel is outgoing and loves food, while David is more observant and reflective. Together, they are kind, lovely children who continue to inspire and captivate those around them.
