Final Moments of Azerbaijan Airlines Flight 8243 Revealed
On Christmas Day, Azerbaijan Airlines flight 8243 tragically crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, killing 38 people, including 33-year-old flight attendant Hokuma Aliyeva. The plane, en route from Baku to Grozny, Russia, was forced to divert due to thick fog, attempting an emergency landing in Aktau. Despite the tragedy, 29 passengers survived.
Footage has surfaced showing Aliyeva calmly instructing passengers: “Fasten your seat belts. Everything will be fine.” Her final words offered solace in the chaos.
Survivor and flight attendant Zulfugar Asadov recounted the failed landing attempts due to poor visibility and the panic that spread among passengers after strange noises were heard. The aircraft ultimately crashed upon landing, splitting in two when its front landing gear struck the ground.
