After six hours of urgent searching, 6-year-old Gracelynn Vick’s body was tragically found near her home in Saucier, Mississippi. The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, local agencies, search and rescue teams, and around 40 volunteers participated in the search.

Her body was discovered on the family’s property, near a swing set and livestock area. Investigators spent hours documenting the scene, and her body was removed around 8 p.m. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death. So far, no arrests have been made, and authorities haven’t confirmed whether foul play is involved.

Gracelynn’s death marks the third heartbreaking loss for her mother, Vicky Lynn Hutcherson. In March 2024, Gracelynn’s 13-year-old stepsister, Victoria Hutcherson, died in a car crash. And in July 2021, her 18-year-old brother Larry Hart passed away due to a medical condition.

Grief counselors have been brought to Saucier Elementary to support students following Gracelynn’s death, as tributes and support pour in for the devastated family.
