Actress Michelle Trachtenberg, known for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl, was found dead Wednesday morning in her New York City apartment. Police sources say the 39-year-old recently underwent a liver transplant and may have suffered complications, though no foul play is suspected. An autopsy will determine the cause of death.

A former child star, Trachtenberg gained fame as Dawn in Buffy (2000–2003), earning a Teen Choice Award nomination. She later played Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl (2008–2012) and had a brief role in the 2022 reboot. Her film credits include EuroTrip, 17 Again, and The Scribbler.

Just last month, she fondly shared a throwback photo with Sarah Michelle Gellar, captioned: “Slay all day!”
