Lisa Hough shared the heartbreaking journey of her grandson Karson, who was born with severe medical complications. His mother, Chelsea, faced an unimaginable choice after doctors diagnosed him with a brain hemorrhage and a rare genetic disorder called Non-ketotic hyperglycinemia (NKH), predicting he would never breathe, swallow, or survive without life support.
Given the grim prognosis, Chelsea made the difficult decision to remove Karson from life support. Doctors expected he wouldn’t survive more than 10 minutes. However, to everyone’s shock, Karson started breathing on his own, his heart and oxygen levels stabilized, and he even swallowed and opened his eyes.
Medical staff admitted there was no scientific explanation for his survival, calling it nothing short of a miracle. Lisa shared, “I’m not sure why we thought we were undeserving of a miracle, but we have him now, and that’s all that matters.”
On March 1, the family received the joyous news—Karson was healthy enough to go home. Lisa expressed overwhelming gratitude, saying, “Every day, I am brought to my knees, and just when I think God is done, I’m reminded He isn’t.”
Lisa’s updates gained 30,000+ reactions, as thousands celebrated Karson’s survival and strength. Against all odds, this little fighter continues to defy expectations.
