The likelihood of giving birth to twins is rare, with about 33 out of 1,000 births being twins, and only three or four out of 1,000 are identical twins. Savannah Combs, a 23-year-old from Florida, experienced an even rarer situation: identical twins, both with Down syndrome.

Despite emotional challenges and societal judgment, Savannah and her husband, Justin Ackerman, embraced the rarity as a blessing. Savannah refused advice to terminate her pregnancy and delivered her daughters, Kennadi Rue and Mckenli Ackerman, at 29 weeks on May 12, 2021.
