A small act of kindness by Officer Bryan Dougherty in Coral Springs, Florida, caught the attention of Janet Balestriero after a three-car crash. While the child’s parent spoke to police, Dougherty sat by the roadside with the young boy, discussing Disney characters and playing with a toy firetruck to provide comfort during the traumatic situation.

Balestriero captured the touching moment and shared it on the Coral Springs Police Department’s Facebook page, where it quickly went viral. Officer Dougherty, a SWAT team member since 2016, was praised by Police Chief Clyde Parry, who noted that such compassionate acts often go unrecognized.

Balestriero, part of the Kindness Rock Project, plans to honor Dougherty by painting a rock with a Disney image and his badge number to leave at the police department. She emphasized how small gestures can create a ripple effect of positivity, urging others to recognize kindness in the world.
