Michael Bublé Reveals His Son Noah’s Battle With Liver Cancer Forced Him To Lose His ‘Alter-Ego’

Michael Bublé revealed that his life changed profoundly when his son Noah, now 9, was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, a rare liver cancer, at age three. Noah underwent chemotherapy and radiation therapy and is now in remission, but the experience had a lasting impact on the singer and his family.

Bublé shared that the diagnosis stripped away his “alter ego” as a performer, shifting his priorities and perspective on life. He and his wife, actress Luisana Lopilato, who have been married since 2011, credit their strong marriage to mutual understanding and prioritizing each other’s happiness.

The couple balances their careers and family life, with Bublé taking breaks from touring to support Lopilato’s filming schedule and vice versa. Bublé described their goal as simply being together, regardless of what they do.

Reflecting on the period after Noah’s diagnosis, Bublé admitted he felt “unstable and vulnerable,” especially when creating his 2018 album, which he approached cautiously to protect himself emotionally. However, he now feels rejuvenated, inspired by his family’s well-being and eager to create music with newfound enthusiasm.

Bublé and Lopilato share four children: Elias, 7; Vida, 4; Cielo, 5 months; and Noah. His full interview can be found in the March 2023 edition of Red magazine.
