In January 2024, a young girl named Liz was diagnosed with an incurable desmoplastic small round cell tumor. Doctors estimated she had six months to three years to live. Liz left school to focus on her passion for photography and created a bucket list to fulfill in her remaining time.
Her story reached Kate Middleton, who, having undergone chemotherapy for cancer herself, was deeply moved and inspired. Liz was invited to Windsor Castle to photograph an awards ceremony hosted by Prince William. Following the event, her family joined Prince and Princess of Wales for tea. During a personal meeting, Kate embraced Liz warmly, and the two bonded over their shared love of photography, avoiding discussions about their battles with illness. Liz also posed for photos with Kate, William, her parents, and her younger brother, Mateo.
Tragically, Liz passed away in late November 2024 at her home in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Her condition had deteriorated rapidly in her final days. The family had planned to celebrate Christmas early so Mateo could share the holiday with his beloved sister, but sadly, that wish could not be fulfilled.
